Project Overview
The Fujian-West Coast Arts Project aimed to exchange the arts
and culture between the people of the province of Fujian in China and the West Coast of Tasmania
The project was divided into two subprojects, namely the West Coast and Fujian sub-projects, each
taking place in their respective locations.
For the West Coast sub-project, an award winning artist from Fujian (courtesy of the Fujian Vocational
College of Arts), Mr Chengjian Lyu completed a three week residence in the West Coast and shared his
talents and skills through sessions held for all the West Coast schools, community arts workshops,
artist forum and studio work in the community. This culminated in a community exhibition at the
Queenstown Memorial Hall.
The Fujian sub-project fielded the accomplished West Coast Watercolour artist, Ms Maxine Brown who
traveled to Fujian and conducted workshops, lecture and visual art ideas forum. This concluded with an
exhibition at the Fujian Lacquer Museum

Sello Arts is a divistion of Sello Group Pty Ltd. We provide arts management services with strong focus to increase the visibility of West Coast visual and performing arts to the international community. Projects such as the recently completed Fujian-West Coast Arst Project add to our vision of increasing this visibility.
